Favorite Fridays: I simply remember my favorite things... and then I dont feeeeeeel soooo bad!

There was a really big storm last night. So I turned on The Sound of Music on my laptop. I love the song My Favorite Things. I just forgot how much I love the sound of Music. Its such a cute movie. It makes me happy.

So this friday my favorite thing is The Sound of Music.

On the Lords Team Girls Camp 2011

I survived. I finished my 4th year of girls camp. It has been great and I think im ready to leave my young camper days and move on to the older youth leaders.

Since I was a 4th year I had to Camp out in tents for two days. It wasnt easy. It was sticky, hot, and I didnt get any sleep. Oh and no toilets. I still had fun though. Once we got back to base camp I flushed the toilet a couple times and admired its beautiful BEAUTIFUL sound. I missed the toilets.

Another thing that 4th years do at camp is the High Ropes Course. At first I wasn't scared at all. then I actually went up there. I thought I did pretty good for my first time.

I think this was the best year as a camper. The things we had to do were tough. It took me a lot of courage and bravery to overcome it. But it all worked out in the end.

Now for the theme:

The theme for camp was " On the Lords Team". I think that this theme spoke out to me the most. The parables and scriptures we read this week all stood out to me.

I was reading a hymn one night at camp. Its called " Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy "

It says:

1. Brightly beams our Father’s mercy
From his lighthouse evermore,
But to us he gives the keeping
Of the lights along the shore.

2. Dark the night of sin has settled;
Loud the angry billows roar.
Eager eyes are watching, longing,
For the lights along the shore.

What I think this means to me is that sometimes we are going to be lost like that sailor out at sea. But without the light house we cannot make it back. The Only way we can return home to him is through Christ. I want to be on his side.

My Varsity Jacket

Swimming is coming up soon. Like august. Im suuuper nervous. I really want to have a great season.

I've just been thinking about my jacket and when I got it and how excited I was when I earned my letter. Then I thought about it more and how someday its just going to go into a closet somewhere never to be worn again. That made me sad :( I'm going to be out of High School in 3 years!!!

It feels like things are just going way too fast....

An artist cannot fail; it is a success to be one.

I've always loved art. I remember drawing as a young child. I remember that Wednesdays were my favorite day in Elementary school because we had art class. I love going to High School art shows and taking new art classes at my school. I love it. Srsly.

I had one art teacher in elementary school who I didnt like. One day we were doing self portraits and I was drawing myself and learning to shade. My teacher picked up my paper and showed the class that this was the WRONG way to shade. That I was doing it wrong. I felt awful. She erased my work and gave it back. This taught me a lesson. It didnt have anything to do with shading. The lesson was not taught by my teacher. The lesson came from myself. The lesson was that there is no right or wrong when it comes to art.

My art teacher in 8th grade was amazing. We did a ton of new projects that were advanced and fun. I really loved her and she really loved me and my creativity. I would take her projects and change the standards she set for the project. Example: We did a project with water colors. She explained that we had to draw blobs and make a rainbow through out the blobs using water colors. Most thought it was too challenging. I thought it wasn't challenging enough. So I did this:

She loved it.

But I loved this teacher the most because she didnt think that thinking outside the box was wrong. She knew what art was. I want to be like her someday.

Art has always been important to me. I appreciate it. It has taught me to look at things differently. I have showed some of my art on my blog here. But I want to do more. I love working with water colors and colored pencils but I would love to start working with different textures and Acrylics. I wish I had an art studio. An Art studio with white walls and a big window where I could look out and find new inspiration everyday. I wish I had all the supplies needed like Canvas', paints, and palettes. Hmmm maybe someday.

Some of my favorite Artists are Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, Sonia Delaunay, Andy Worhol, and Monet.

That awkward moment when Harry Potter is over and you dont know what to do with your life. Yeah thats me.

The Movie was Incredible. Beautiful. Spectacular. Thats all I have to say.

Now for the fun part! I went to the midnight showing with my friends! Half of us dressed up because we are cool like that. :p

We were trying to act sirius....opps sorry serious.... ;)

I love how when I go to my favorite blogs and I click on their favorite blogs and find new fun blogs! I love it more when I find a new great band too! I was on Busy Bee Lauren, one of my FAV blogs on blogger, and I clicked on one of her buttons called ( Hue and Hum).

What I found was amazing....

I LOVE this blog. SO MUCH! SRSLY! Hue is so creative and I love her art work. Hum's band "Ficionist" is awesome. I pretty much stalked their whole youtube page and listened to a bunch of their songs. They are really good! I put Hue and Hum's blog button on the side. CHECK IT OUT! Srsly. Its really good.

So since Fictionist is a new favorite, I decided to make their song " Treasure these Moments" song of the week! Wooo! Thanks Hue and Hum for being super awesome.

I Love Rock N' Roll

I saw this and I was like.....AWESOME! Srsly.

There are other bands that I think are also good Rock and Roll, and I dont think these bands are the " Only" rock n' roll, I just liked it. Just sayin.

I have been lazy pretty much all summer. I watched a whole series ( which was very good btw. post later) , I avoided cleaning my room, I'm not exercising, and so far I have eaten all my meals in my bedroom with my computer screen in my face. This has to stop. I've tried writing it down, putting it in my face, making it a computer document, reminders, basically everything so I can actually get stuff done but I havent. So I have decided to make a list of goals on the sidebar of my blog, So I am motivated to get things done. When all my goals are done, I will delete them one by one. So I dont go from that ( picture above) to this:

This weekend was fun. Saw fireworks, parade, went SWIMMING! It was awesome. Srsly.
